How Jill Carroll will continue to assist the terrorist
Its not often that I get to sit by a TV and watch much of anything these days. I try to keep up with the news via Stars & Stripes, the military newspaper, as well as the internet. I read a little bit of the Boston Globe article on Jill Carroll and I am glad she was released. Here's my problem. Jill Carroll made a propagandist video that will be played on Arab TV to further vilify the United States. It doesn't matter when she got back to the US, where it was safe, that she denounced what she did. What she did was wrong and it will be used to justify the actions of the terrorist. She made this video in exchange for her freedom.
Before any United States soldier goes to a foreign nation we sit through a class on how to react if/when we are captured. I don't know if the department of defense has a mandate that all journalists go through the same briefing, but they need to. In the briefing we are told that all we are to tell our captors is or name, rank, social security number. That's it! We are told not to make any statements against the United States or the military. Why because if we do what Miss Carroll did it could very well cost our fellows brothers in arms their lives.
This tape she made will be used to recruit new terrorist. By her making this tape she puts herself in to the same rank and file and Cindy Sheehan. In the eyes of the Arab world there is no difference between the two women, NONE!
I hope in the future journalist will mind what they say and realize that everything they say, as well as anything a hostage says on video can and will be used to undermine the United States mission in Iraq, Afghanistan. Think before you speak!
As a Christian, here is a question I pose to you, When the persicution come for being a Christian will deign God for your freedom? Or will you be like Abdul Rahman, the Afghan Christian who refused refused to recant of being a Christian to the whole world and go back to being a Muslim? Each one of their lives hung in the balance one dishonored her country the other refused to dishonor his God.
