Thoughts from the front

I'm a soldier in Iraq and I call em as I see em.

Future American Leaders

The LA Times ran an op-ed piece that I think is worthy of your time. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-kaplan24dec24,0,1795116.story?coll=la-news-comment-opinions
I totaly agree with the writter. I can also see a time when the policy makers in Washington DC actually care about what the vast majority of Americans want. Right now I as watch and read the news from back home I see billions of dollars being wasted and nothing getting done by congress. I'm tired of the name calling fro both side. We need to strengthen or borders, take control of immigration and track the guest workers. No business could servive if it was run the way our elected officals are running this country. It would fail.
I'm also quit tired of the media and others tell us what a failure Iraq is, how its on the brink of civil war, and how Iraq is not important to the gobal war on terrorism. Iraq is vital to the war on terror. My question to all of the negh sayers is when was the last time you came over here and saw for yourself what we are doing? You can't possibly know the good we are doing when you dont bother to investigate it. Yes soldiers are dying here, but how many die in motorcycle or auto accidents every year.
This nation, Iraq, is worth fighting for. Wouldn't it be nice if we finally had Iraq as an ally and through this ally we could deal better with Iran, Syria, Jordan, Afganistan? Or would it be better to pull out and let Iraq be rebuilt by people who hate America and will stop at nothing to see our Nation fall?
